The basic structures for linking squares into polyhedra andnetworks (reticulation) are enumerated, and corresponding examples aredescribed in which crystals were synthesized by linking paddle wheel(square) units into metal–organic frameworks (MOFs)—named MOF-102 toMOF-112.
